Despu茅s de la llamada "crisis de las big bands", cuando casi ninguna formaci贸n de la era del swing se salv贸 de ser disuelta o transformada, Count Basie no dud贸 en refundar su gran orquesta de los a帽os treinta. En la d茅cada de los cincuenta, y pr谩cticamente desde 1952, existieron varias formaciones basianas, todas ellas unidas bajo un mismo com煤n denominador: la b煤squeda y consecuente encuentro con la perfecci贸n. El resultado, sobre todo despu茅s del reajuste de la secci贸n r铆tmica con la incorporaci贸n de Ed Jones y Sonny Payne agregados a Basie y el imprescindible Freddie Green, es asombroso.
