Today I would like to talk about something other than
"I'm looking for mp3"
...of course I'm always looking for mp3 :D but anyway

Could anyone tell me how many chords we have in one key
(key of C for example)?
Only 7 diatonic?Of course not

How to stay in one key(of C)
in the mood of one chosen scale (dorian for example)
using all possible diatonic and non-diatonic chords?

I would like to know rules for combining diatonic chords with non-diatonic chords.
I mean, rules that apply to stylistics.
For example, if we combine diatonic chord X from key of C
with another non-diatonic chord X, we get the typical mood for
bossa nova.

But if we combine the same diatonic chord X from key of C
with another non-diatonic chord but this time chord Y
it will no longer be bossa nova but neo soul for example
or some other gospel etc smile1.gif You know what I mean?

Each genre has its own dialect, music is like speech.
We have different languages, dialects and slangs.

Phrasing in music is like talking in different dialects.
Depending on what genre we want to create
we use a different phrasing style, but how is it doing?

How to use one scale to create phrases and motifs in different genres?
Phrygian scale is typical for flamenco music and metal.
One scale Two diametrically different styles.

Hi Opiekack....The Tonal complex of C Mayor has got 7 diatonic chords or modes, but if you aply the secundary dominants are more....and if you make a chromatic scale from C to C and play a diminished chord between whole steps there are more too (the diminished chords could sustitute the secondary dominant or viceversa).....Check Rick Beato on Youtube,he explains difficult Harmonic maqtters very well, easy to understand.Saludos,PPJZZ.

c,e,g#,b,d,f,a - ?

e,g#,b,d,f,a,c - ?
f,a,c,e,g#,b,d - ?
g#,b,d,f,a,c,e - ?
a,c,e,g#,b,d,f - ?
b,d,f,a,c,e,g# - ?

c,e,g#,b,d,f#,a - ?
d,f#,a,c,e,g#,b - ?
e,g#,b,d,f#,a,c - ?
f#,a,c,e,g#,b,d - ?

I found an answer but I do not understand it

First line -
Cmaj13+5
Dm13+11
Emaj7+5add11-9
Fmaj7+11+9
Fmaj7+11+9/Ab
Am maj11+5
Bm 13-9

Second line-
Cmaj13-5
D13 add9+11
E11+5
Am Maj11/f#
E11+5/G#
Am Maj13
Bm7 add11add13-9

What is wrong with g# and f# chords?
And why chod [c,e,g#,b,d,f#,a] is Cmaj13-5?
5 is g# not gb...

Hi Opiecakz...I will give you an answer but I have to pick up the guitar....at first sight..in the guitar we normaly used 4 notes accords and some of the sttuff you say have 7 notes wich you have to be an octopus or Tal Farlow to play them on guitar...but I will try my best.Saludos PPJZZ.

Fully extend chords are the same thing as modes :)
The point is not to play them on guitar*
but find tonal chord name, for each scale spread in thirds.

* We can play arpeggio of course
but I need only names for all 21 scales
natural - c,d,e,f,g,a,b
harmonic - c,d,e,f,g#,a,b
melodic - c,d,e,f#,g#,a,b

Opiekacz dijo...

I mean
c,d,e,f,g,a,b is ionian scale,I know
but
c,e,g,b,d,f,a is "ionian chord" Cmaj9/11/13

and I need same for other scales.

Opiekacz dijo...

How work going? :)
I have already this

c,e,g#,b,d,f,a - Caug. maj 11/13
d,f,a,c,e,g#,b - Dm13#11
e,g#,b,d,f,a,c - E13 b9/11 or E phryg b13 add10
f,a,c,e,g#,b,d - Fmaj13#9#11
g#,b,d,f,a,c,e - G#dim7b11b5b13
a,c,e,g#,b,d,f - Ammaj11b13
b,d,f,a,c,e,g# - Bm13b5b9

f#,a,c,e,g#,b,d - F#m11b59b13

But still I need that

c,e,g#,b,d#,f,a - ?
d#,f,a,c,e,g#,b - ?
e,g#,b,d#,f,a,c - ?
f,a,c,e,g#,b,d# - ?
g#,b,d#,f,a,c,e - ?
a,c,e,g#,b,d#,f - ?
b,d#,f,a,c,e,g# - ?

c,e,g,b,d,f,as - ?
d,f,as,c,e,g,b - ?
e,g,b,d,f,as,c - ?
f,as,c,e,g,b,d - ?
g,b,d,f,as,c,e - ?
as,c,e,g,b,d,f - ?
b,d,f,as,c,e,g - ?
